Behind the Curve
To a rational person, it might seem like closing the barn door after the horse got out, but with New College trustees, we’re not talking about rational people. Now that the school has been exposed as a laughing stock in Bay Area media as well as national higher ed periodicals, you’d think they’d have the sense not to commit federal crimes to prevent people from learning further about these scandals. Apparently not.
Today, for the second time in six months, a hacker has disabled the independent alumni/ae website where most media got the leads for the stories that ran over the last two weeks. We can’t prove who did it — yet — but we have a pretty good idea who put them up to it.
When we do track it down, they’ll be getting a visit from these guys.

We’re baaack! We lost our comments, users and most of our static pages. Someone inserted malicious code into a file. My computer also crashed–thanks a lot. Fortunately I was able to save my computer and most of my files.
