Baffling Behavior
The deliberate exclusion of New College Independent Alumni/ae from the WASC Transition, Redevelopment, and Presidential Search committees set up by the New College board of trustees, is a baffling behavior that makes us wonder just what they hope to accomplish—without our support. I mean, denying a voice — or any authentic representation on the board itself — to the ten thousand alumni/ae they hope to hit up for money to bail them out of the current crisis, seems shortsighted at best. At worst, it is sociopathic suicide.
Given the trustees were all appointed by spiritual guru Peter Gabel, I guess we shouldn’t be surprised.
