Assassinating Peace

More than anything else, the government of the United States fears peace. Peace means cooperation, negotiation, resolution—all bad for the armaments industry and politicians on the take.

Lisa Sullivan of School of the Americas Watch reports on the U.S. State Department cables, uncovered by Wikileaks, that reveal how the United States pressured Costa Rican Nobel Peace Laureate Oscar Arias to reverse his country’s withdrawal from the school of the assassins.
