Law and Order

We were discussing the Wyoming Gang robbery at the Interior Department last night, and the subject of criminal convergence came up, leading to a discussion of how it is that high crimes and misdemeanors became endemic to our system of governance. The consensus was that fraud is the basis of American culture, and that no matter how much we dress it up, the perverted values that enable criminal syndicates to rule our country and economy are what determine the type of society we are and will be. Until we deal with these underlying values that pervade our daily lives, we concluded, we cannot as a people even begin to come to terms with the systematic changes required to reconcile settler and indigenous cultures, let alone achieve a democratic society built on law and order.
