Someone once said that insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results each time. Voting for candidates of political parties owned lock-stock-and-barrel by the military industry, while simultaneously hoping they will promote world peace, falls in this category of mental illness.
Lloyd de Mause wrote about the emotional life of nations, and how entire societies can have nervous breakdowns. Watching Americans perpetuate belligerence through an infantile belief in the possibility of benign leadership emanating from the fascist convergence reigning in their country’s capitol is a foreboding reminder of this.
