A Sure Bet

With Ponzi vendors busy depositing their bailout bonuses in Swiss bank accounts while millions of Americans lose their jobs and homes, the notion of violent rage projected at scapegoats and other convenient targets seems inevitable. As with the Midwest family farm collapse and subsequent militia outburst of the 1990s that produced the carnage in Oklahoma City, the demise of the entire US economy and way of life cannot help but produce violence. How the rapidly-rising rage of the present will vent itself is anybody’s guess; the odds that it will claim innocent victims, though, is a sure bet.
