Altiplano Solar

While the United States Government comes to Copenhagen with dubious promises of reducing the US carbon footprint a measly 4% by 2020, residents of the Andean Altiplano have already gone solar, in some cases cutting their footprint by 70%.  When Bolivian president Evo Morales says the US should commit to cutting its emmissions by half in that timeframe, he’s talking about an achievable goal. As the Danish themselves have learned, harnessing tides, winds, and goethermal energy is both technically possible and economically profitable.
